HealthNet Aeromedical Services Establishes In-Network Coverage with The Health Plan for Air Transport Patients
Charleston, W.Va. – When a medical emergency occurs, the focus should remain on care, not cost. HealthNet Aeromedical Services announces its air medical transport services will be in-network for members of The Health Plan, effective May 1, 2026. This agreement allows the Wheeling-based insurance provider’s more than 150,000 members access to life-saving air medical care without the concern of unexpected out-of-network expenses.
Leaders from both organizations emphasized their shared mission of ensuring access to essential medical services when and where they are needed most.
“Our partnership with The Health Plan is solely focused on what’s best for our patients,” said Clinton Burley, president and CEO of HealthNet Aeromedical Services. “We provide critical care for patients in need, and this agreement reinforces our commitment to putting patient well-being first.”
The Health Plan is a West Virginia-based nonprofit health insurer offering commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid plans. Jeff Knight, president and CEO of The Health Plan, explained the new partnership reflects a shared commitment to patient-centered care across the state and region.
“As a West Virginia-based organization, we understand the unique geographic challenges our members face,” Knight said. “This partnership with HealthNet Aeromedical Services ensures that high-quality, life-saving transport is both accessible and affordable, furthering our mission to provide comprehensive care across the communities we serve.”
HealthNet Aeromedical Services Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Brian Doughty further highlighted the alignment between the two nonprofit organizations.
“With both of our organizations dedicated to serving communities throughout our respective footprints, this agreement reflects our collective mission to provide greater value and peace of mind to the individuals and families we serve,” Doughty said.
