New Mountwest Paramedic Program Class Starting August 2021
New certification options are now available through the Mountwest Community & Technical College Paramedic Program. The next course being held at the HealthNet Aeromedical Services Training Center in Charleston, West Virginia will begin on August 16, 2021. Program lectures will be conducted online and students will meet every Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for laboratory skills.
Students enrolled in the program can become a Nationally Registered Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) in one semester. In one and a half semesters, students can become a West Virginia AEMT. All three semesters must be completed for Paramedic certification. All three certifications can be completed in less than a year.
Students from the 2019-2020 program had an 83% first-time pass rate on the National Registry of EMT’s Paramedic exam.
