HealthNet Aeromedical Services is a not-for-profit program funded through patient service revenue and cooperatively by Marshall Health Network, Vandalia Health, and WVU Medicine.

Air medical transport is utilized for those who are critically ill or injured.  Our teams typically transport persons of all ages experiencing cardiac, neurological, traumatic, respiratory, metabolic or obstetrical emergencies.

Safe delivery of family-centered care is important to us.  Each HealthNet Aeromedical Services aircraft can transport a family member, and most often, safety parameters allow that family member to accompany their loved one. The decision to allow a family member to ride on a specific mission is left solely to the medical and aviation professionals. Given the nature of activities conducted in the patient care compartment, family members will not be seated in that area.

Medical team members must have three years of verified experience serving in an emergency department, intensive care unit or high-volume emergency medical services program.  Upon entering our system, all medical team members must complete a ten-week training academy and are subsequently assigned to a flight training officer for continued experiential learning.

Air Methods Corporation pilots serving with our program are required to have a minimum of 2,500 hours of flight time as pilot-in-command.  Candidates for these positions receive a detailed orientation including experience in flight simulators and familiarization with the regional service area.

Each HealthNet Aeromedical Services aircraft is equipped with high-tech equipment like that which you would see in a hospital intensive care unit or critical care transport ground ambulance.

No. We do not offer a membership product for aeromedical transport. Our philosophy is to put the patient first and reimbursement for services second.
